Background: The incidence rate of caesarean delivery increases every year, one of the solutions to reduce the rate is by doing vaginal birth after caesarean delivery. A way to find out vaginal birth after caesarean delivery safety is by knowing the maternal and perinatal outcomes. Therefore, studies about maternal and perinatal outcomes in vaginal birth after caesarean delivery were done.Aims: To find out maternal and perinatal outcomes in vaginal birth after caesarean delivery in RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang in 2007-2011.Methods: This descriptive study was done in all mothers who underwent vaginal birth after caesarean delivery in RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang from 2007-2011. Maternal outcomes consisted of uterine rupture, uterine dehiscence, hysterectomy, blood transfusion, endometritis, and maternal death. Perinatal outcomes consisted of birth asphyxia and neonatal death.Results: Forty nine mothers underwent vaginal birth after caesarean delivery, 3 mothers experienced complications such as bleeding, requiring of blood transfusion, and placenta restan. There was no neonatal complication, maternal death, and neonatal death.Conclusion: Maternal and perinatal outcomes in vaginal birth after caesarean delivery in RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang in 2007-2011 had good results.
